Your God- Given Gift
Becoming Her: Sis, Are You Using the Gift God Gave You? π✨
Sis, let’s talk about your gift.
Yes, YOUR gift.
That thing God placed inside of you that you sometimes downplay because you think everybody can do it.
That thing people keep coming to you for.
That idea that won’t leave you alone.
That passion you keep putting on the back burner because life is LIFE-ING. π©
That may not be “just something you’re good at.”
Sis, that could be your gift.
And the question I’ve been thinking about is:
Are we actually USING what God gave us?
π Stop Comparing Your Gift
Sometimes we don’t use our gifts because we’re too busy looking at somebody else’s.
She speaks better than me.
Her business is bigger.
She has more followers.
She’s been doing it longer.
She has more resources.
But sis, God didn’t ask you to be her.
He created YOU with something specific to contribute.
Your gift may be encouraging women.
Teaching children.
Writing.
Serving.
Leading.
Cooking.
Creating.
Singing.
Listening.
Organizing.
Mentoring.
Praying.
Caring for people.
Building community.
Whatever God placed inside of you, don’t make it small because it doesn’t look like somebody else’s gift.
ππΎ Your Gift Doesn’t Need a Stage
This one is important.
We’ve gotten so used to seeing gifts displayed publicly that sometimes we think our gift only matters when people can see it.
But every gift doesn’t come with a microphone.
Every calling doesn’t need thousands of followers.
Some gifts look like sitting beside somebody who’s hurting and simply listening.
Some gifts look like praying for somebody when nobody else knows they’re struggling.
Some gifts look like mentoring one girl who needs somebody to believe in her.
Some gifts look like serving your community when there aren’t any cameras around.
God can use what happens quietly just as much as what happens publicly.
π± Sis, You Have to Develop It
Having a gift doesn’t mean you don’t have to work on it.
Sometimes we pray:
“God, use me.”
And God may be saying:
“Okay… but are you willing to prepare?”
Read the book.
Take the class.
Practice.
Study.
Ask questions.
Get around people who can teach you.
Accept correction.
Start small.
Be consistent.
Your gift may come from God, but you still have a responsibility to steward it.
Paul reminded Timothy:
“Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.” — 2 Timothy 1:6
That means don’t just let it sit there, sis.
Fan it. Develop it. Use it.
π What If Fear Has Been Sitting on Your Gift?
Whew.
Sometimes it isn’t that we don’t know we’re gifted.
We’re scared to use it.
Scared we’ll fail.
Scared people will judge us.
Scared nobody will support us.
Scared we’re not qualified enough.
Scared somebody else is already doing it.
But sis, somebody else doing something similar doesn’t cancel what God placed inside of you.
They don’t have your story.
They don’t have your experiences.
They don’t have your heart.
They don’t have your exact assignment.
There is room for what God placed inside of you.
✨ Your Gift Isn’t Just About You
This is where it gets deeper for me.
What if God gave you that gift because somebody else needs what He’s placed inside of you?
Your encouragement may help somebody keep going.
Your testimony may help another woman feel less alone.
Your leadership may create opportunities for somebody else.
Your creativity may bring joy.
Your service may meet a need.
Your words may help somebody heal.
Your obedience may open a door that blesses people you’ve never even met.
That’s why we can’t keep burying what God gave us.
π Remember the Talents
In Matthew 25:14–30, Jesus tells the parable of servants who were entrusted with different amounts.
They weren’t all given the same thing.
But they were responsible for what they had been given.
And sis, that’s the part that speaks to me.
I don’t have to answer for somebody else’s gift.
I have to be faithful with mine.
You don’t need her platform.
Her resources.
Her connections.
Her personality.
Her assignment.
Ask yourself:
“God, what did You put in MY hands, and what am I doing with it?”
Whew. ππΎ
π Becoming Her Means Using What God Gave Me
I’m learning that Becoming Her isn’t just about discovering who I am.
It’s about becoming responsible for what God has entrusted to me.
I don’t want to reach the end of my life with gifts still sitting inside of me because I was too afraid to use them.
I don’t want fear to bury what God intended to bless somebody else.
I don’t want comparison to convince me that what God gave me isn’t enough.
And I definitely don’t want to spend my whole life waiting until I feel “ready.”
Because sis… sometimes ready comes after you start.
So today, I’m asking you the same question I’m asking myself:
Are you using the gift God gave you?
If the answer is no, don’t beat yourself up.
Start.
Start small.
Start scared.
Start with what you have.
Start where you are.
Pray over your gift.
Develop your gift.
Protect your gift.
And most importantly, use your gift for God’s glory.
Because somebody may be waiting on the other side of your obedience. πππΎ
Sis, stop sitting on what God placed inside of you.
It’s time to use it.
Keep growing.
Keep serving.
Keep walking in purpose.
And keep Becoming Her. π✨
