Sis take your foot off the brake
Becoming HER
Sis, Take Your Foot Off the Brake
Yesterday, I cried.
Not the kind of cry where a few tears roll down your face. I’m talking about the kind where you pour everything out to God because you’ve reached your limit.
And honestly? I needed it.
I’ve been pulled in so many different directions. Work. Ministry. School. Motherhood. Health. People needing me. Expectations. Deadlines.
If I’m being honest, some of it was my fault.
Not because people asked too much of me—but because I kept saying yes when I should’ve been saying, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Yesterday, I finally reached a place where I said, enough.
I put in my 90-day notice for my position at work.
Was it scary? Absolutely.
But peace will often ask you to let go of what’s familiar so God can lead you somewhere healthier.
For so long, I convinced myself I could keep juggling everything. I kept hitting the gas and the brake at the same time. I wanted to move forward, but fear, responsibility, and people-pleasing kept slowing me down.
Then God gently reminded me:
“Trust Me.”
Not with part of your life.
Everything.
The schedule.
The finances.
The unknown.
The purpose.
The next chapter.
Sis, maybe you’ve been crying over the same thing because you’ve been standing in the same place.
Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t in another prayer asking God to move.
Sometimes He’s waiting on you to take your foot off the brake.
So cry if you need to.
Rest if you need to.
Heal if you need to.
But don’t stay parked.
Take the next step—even if it’s a small one.
God has already gone ahead of you.
Becoming HER isn’t about pretending you’re strong every day. It’s about trusting God enough to keep moving, even after you’ve cried.
Today, take your foot off the brake.
He’s got the wheel.
